- Why I Hate Those Nag Screens:
-
- If I was living in a perfect world, there would be no nag screens and
- everyone who enjoyed my games would send in whatever money they thought
- was reasonable and I could go on and keep creating new games for the
- remainder of my life.
-
- I originally priced my games in the $25.00 range. This seemed like a
- reasonable number when I compared the quality of other shareware games
- out there. However, when I compared it to other Mass-Market games in
- the $25.00 range, I could see where that might be considered high by
- some people. I also originally had these games playing about 200 free
- puzzles with the thinking that someone would find a difficulty level
- that they liked, play the "10 free" games there and then decide to buy.
- I originally had no nag screens whatsoever.
-
- I received a lot of excellent feedback about my games. I felt that
- offering 99,999 puzzles per level (when you buy the registered version)
- was enough incentive. Unfortunately, the world is not perfect and so,
- over time, I decided to reluctantly go the Adware/Nagware route.
-
- I also want to reward my customers so that even if you buy just one of
- my games, you will not get any nagware in the remainder of my games.
- I decided to try to make the Adware/Nagware entertaining while still
- fulfilling it's purpose.
-
- I've lowered all my prices to $9.95 in another attempt to make the
- decision easier for someone to buy my games.
-
- There are only two differences between the registered version and the
- shareware version of any of my games. Virtually unlimited puzzles
- (99,999 per level) and removal of all Adware/Nagware screens.
-
- My primary goal on all my games is for you to enjoy them the way you
- want to play them. My secondary goal is to make enough money selling
- these games in order for me to be able to create new ones for you to
- enjoy. I hate the Adware/Nagware screens in that it interferes with
- my primary goal...but my secondary goal is also critical which is why
- I've compromised and created them.
-
- Hopefully, I've made them at least a little entertaining in the process.
-
- As always - Have fun and Good Luck in your Solving.....Joe
